Hamilton Police Service has announced a new initiative to help reduce the number of stolen autos, educate the public and assist officers in locating stolen motor vehicles in a more timely fashion.
Motorist who don’t usually drive between 11 pm and 6 am are invited to register their vehicle for a CAT sticker which is applied to their car. This will give police permission to stop your car to confirm that the driver is either the owner or has permission to drive the car.
Visit http://www.hamiltonpolice.on.ca/HPS/News/CAT+launch.htm for additional information.
A brochure about the program is posted at http://www.brianmchattie.ca/download.php?id=170.
A community meeting is being held on February 1st, 6 to 8 pm in the Central Police Station gymnasium, 155 King William Street.
You can also register at the Central Police Station.
For further information about the CAT program or to secure a spot at the community meeting, please email A/Sgt Joanne Cain directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
